Hello and welcome to my website!
I am currently on maternity leave and will be returning to work in Autumn Term 2025.
My name is Sam and I am a Specialist Speech and Language Therapist and the founder of Chatty Chipmunks! My aim is to deliver high quality speech and language support to young children across Huntingdon. I am friendly, approachable and passionate about working with young children and their families.
After growing up in Chelmsford, I studied Linguistics from 2008-2012, as part of my undergraduate degree, at the University of Cambridge where I graduated with a First. I then studied from 2013-2015 for a postgraduate diploma in Speech and Language Therapy at City University in London, gaining a Distinction.
I subsequently spent 5 years fully qualified experience across a variety of paediatric NHS settings around London. During this time I gained extensive experience with both assessment and delivery of therapy for young children with language and speech disorder and delay, as well as Autism Spectrum Disorder, Global Developmental Delay and Down Syndrome. I also spent almost 2 years both training other professionals and setting up and running health promotion events, sharing typical communication development and key support strategies. I am used to working with other professionals, stakeholders (such as parents, health visitors, nursery workers and teachers) and partaking in Multi-Disciplinary Team Meetings. I am trained in Parent Child Interaction Therapy and Makaton and have experience using Attention Autism strategies.
I am now living in Huntingdon with my husband and little girl. Being a busy mum, I am currently offering appointments on Mondays and weekends. However there is scope for appointments at other days and times if needed.
So if you have any questions or concerns about your child’s talking, please don’t hesitate to contact me for your FREE no obligation 15 minute wellbeing phone call!
I look forward to getting to know you and your families!
